Reta Mae Evermon Varnold, 56, of Kahoka, MO died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
She was born on July 15, 1957 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of George and Delila Lipper Evermon.
Reta graduated from Clark County High School CCR1.
She had been employed at Henniges in Keokuk for thirty-five years.
Reta was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Steel Workers Union 444.
Reta loved music and played the guitar and piano. She enjoyed listening to rock and roll and was a fan of Alan Jackson. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening. Most of all, Reta cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Varnold of Florida and Ashley Varnold of Moberly, MO, two sisters, Dorothy Conover and her husband Dean of Canton, MO and Barb Beaird and her husband Alan of Wyaconda, MO, one brother, Vernon Evermon and his wife Lois of Wyaconda, MO, four nieces, Pam Evermon Stephens and her husband Josh of Linn, MO, Angie Barlow of Bucklin, MO, Emmy Beaird of Wyaconda, MO and Brenda Witte and her husband Kenny of Rock Island, IL, one nephew, Russell Pratt and his wife Shelly of Trinity, N.C. great nieces and nephews, Connor Stephens, Haley Dalton, Eric Dalton, Taylor Gilmore, Amanda Pratt, Kaitlyn Pratt, Miley Pratt, her special friend, Terry Sturm of Kahoka, MO and her dog and baby, Max.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Mike Evermon and one great-nephew, Anthony Dalton.
A Gathering of Remembrance for family and friends was held Sunday, March 16, 2014at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO. Burial will be at a later date in the Kahoka, Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital or her Family.
