Obituary

Rebecca Ann Sage-Olmsted, 62, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday February 25, 2007 at her home. She was born on January 16, 1945 in Waterloo, IA the daughter of Harlan R. and Marlys Speer Sage. On June 6, 1964, Rebecca was united in marriage to William E. Olmsted in Dunkerton, IA. He survives. Other survivors include one son, David R. Olmsted of Phoenix, AZ, three daughters, Tanya Hager and her husband Darin of Prole, IA, Sarah Westerbeck and her husband Chris of Houston, TX, and Jennifer Olmsted of Keokuk, IA, her parents of Keokuk, IA, three brothers, Brian Sage and his wife Jane of Angle Inlet, MN, Greg Sage and his wife Judie of Nelson, WI and Joel Sage and his wife Mary Beth of Dover, AR, two sisters, Kim Bemis and her husband Dan of Princeton Junction, NJ and Sharon Godding and her husband Colin of Madison, WI, four grandchildren, Lincoln and Gabbi Hager and Rachel and Alex Westerbeck. She was preceded in death by one daughter Rachel Elizabeth Olmsted. Rebecca graduated from Dunkerton High School in Dunkerton, IA in 1964 and received her BA Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1966. She had been a resident of Keokuk, Iowa for the past 18 years, moving there from Greenfield, Iowa. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warsaw, IL and a former member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA. She was also a member of PEO LZ and Questers. Rebecca enjoyed teaching Sunday School, gardening, making cross-stitch projects and collecting antiques. She loved to read and was a member of a Book Club which met monthly in her home. A Memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, at the First Presbyterian Church in Warsaw, IL with Reverend Neil Cross and Reverend Dale Batcheler officiating. Memorials may be made to the Habitat for Humanity, the Heifer Project, the First Presbyterian Church in Warsaw, the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA or to the Donors Choice.
