Raymond Paul Johns, 59 of Keokuk died May 18, 2014 at the Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. He was born December 25, 1954 in Sioux City, IA the son of Raymond Joseph and Blondina Bowman Johns. Paul graduated from West High School and from Western Iowa Tech College. He also took many different drafting classes. Paul had been employed at several different machinery factories in his early years. For the past ten years he had been employed at Union Pacific Railroad as a drafting engineer. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting model airplanes and playing Bingo. He liked watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers on television and was an avid Nascar fan. Jimmy Johnson was his favorite driver. He is survived by his mother, Blondina Bowman Johns of Keokuk, two brothers, Byron Johns and his wife Lori of Gower, MO and Russel Eugene Johns of Keokuk, three sisters, Linda Graham and her husband Tom of Springfield, OR, Rebecca Renee Mortimer and her husband Jim of Warsaw, IL and Nancy Jeanette Laymon and her husband Trey of Oskaloosa, IA, one nephew, Bradley Allen Johns of Gower, MO, three nieces, Katherine Mills of Dexter, IA, Colleen Mills of Pierson, IA and Corrina Mills of Pierson, IA and one great-niece, Azylia Mills of Pierson, IA. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Joseph Johns, maternal and paternal grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service was held at 11a.m. Thursday May 22, 2014 at the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk with Deacon William Cosgrove officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.
