Raymond R. Grisham Jr., 61, of Keokuk, Iowa died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.
He was born October 12, 1944 the son of Raymond and Fern Schneider Grisham. On October 19, 1990 he was united in marriage to Carolle Nelson Eidem in Keokuk, Iowa. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother and step father Fern and Don Worrell of Kahoka, MO, two sons, Corey Ray Grisham and his wife Nancy of Keokuk, IA, and Tracy James Grisham and his wife Chrissy of Keokuk, Iowa, a step-son, Timothy Eidem of Keokuk, IA, a step-daughter, Joni Crenshaw and her husband Kevin of Keokuk, IA, five grandchildren, Katelyn, Trystan, and Schylar Grisham and Bailey and Daniel Crenshaw, one brother Donald Grisham of Wayland, MO, two sisters, Susan Osterlow of Hamilton, IL and Norma Gibson of Hamilton, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Grisham, Sr. and a brother in infancy, Tommy Lee Grisham.
Ray graduated with the Hamilton High School Class of 1962.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk, IA, Lee County Pheasants Forever, Keokuk Yacht Club and Southside Boat Club.
For over forty years Ray sold cars for local car dealers. He worked at Wilkens and McCredie Motors and sold tractors for VanAusdall Implement in Hamilton. Most recently he worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter.
He enjoyed outdoor activities including trap shooting, fishing, boating and hunting. He was an avid John Deere enthusiast. Ray loved stock car racing and helped in the racing pits with the Nascar Craftmans Truck Series Team. Ray's Sunday ritual was watching Nascar Nextel Cup races with his family.
Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren's sporting and school events.
Funeral serviceswere heldat 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 5 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, Iowa with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burialwas in the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
