R. Clint Wilson, 67 of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Unity Point Hospital-Keokuk in Keokuk.
He was born June 28, 1950 in Keokuk, the son of Bob and Arvita Edwards Wilson. On September 6, 1975 he was united in marriage to Debra Deiling in Keokuk. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Eric (Natasha) Wilson of Keokuk, two daughters, Jennifer Wilson of Downers Grove, IL and Jessica Wilson of Chicago, IL, his father, Robert Wilson of Keokuk, two grandchildren, Avery and Sophie Wilson, both of Keokuk, his mother-in-law, Neva Deiling of Keokuk, two sisters-in-law, Barb Eaton of Keokuk and Lorre Long (Darrin) of Keokuk and three nephews, Richard West, Brandon Roe (Lindsey) and Nick Long.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one sister, Bev Wilson and his father-in-law, Gerard "Dutch" Deiling.
Clint graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1968. He then furthered his education at North East Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education in 1973.
He had been employed at Johnson-Schmidt Men's Wear in Keokuk for twenty-nine years.
Clint had been a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge in Keokuk and was also a member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk.
He enjoyed golfing, playing pool and watching his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs. He was a talented woodworker and made fireplace mantels and shelves for family and friends. He also enjoyed oil painting. He loved to travel and ride his motorcycle as often as he could. He especially loved spending time with his family and going on roller coaster rides with his kids.
He was simply the most kind and humble man, who will be so missed by his family and friends. In his own words, "I've been blessed with an incredible amount of people who I've called friends throughout my life".
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, October 30th, 2017 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor John Simpson officiating.
