Obituary

Porje Syemone Evaun Sangster, 20, of Keokuk, IA died Friday, June 9, 2023.

She was born March 17, 2003 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Kia T. Sangster and Joshua A. Thompson. Porje graduated from Keokuk High School.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk.

Porje loved to do anything with crafts, go shopping, eating, swimming and listening to music. She had an outgoing personality and enjoyed socializing with her friends. She had a heart for caring for others and helping those in need. Porje was very creative and wrote poetry and enjoyed photography. Her dream was to become a writer or photographer.

She is survived by her mother, Kia Sangster of Keokuk, her father, Joshua Thompson of Macomb, IL, her biological mother, Natasha Kimble of Milwaukee, WI, three brothers, Pyrria, Perris and Perrion Sangster all of Milwaukee, WI and three sisters, Jamie, Jennifer, Treyonna Sangster all of Keokuk. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Shirley Sangster and Sharon Sangster both of Keokuk and Vickey Dickey of Macomb, IL, her grandfather, James E. Clark of Keokuk, aunts and uncles Tom Sangster, Jr. (Doreanea) of Keokuk and Stephanie and Todd Dohrn of Keokuk and fifteen cousins.

She was preceded in death by her biological father, George Kimble, one grandfather, Thomas E. Sangster and one uncle, Gary Sprague.

A funeral service was held at 12 noon on July 1, 2023, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor John Heath officiating.

Visitation was held prior to the service from 10-12 noon at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
