View Video Tribute Phyllis J. Sheffler, 76, of Keokuk, IA, died on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on July 2, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Gilbert and Dorothy Cline Reynolds. On December 31, 1949 she was united in marriage to Eldon Sheffler in Warsaw, IL. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1993. She had been employed at Wright Fashion and Maurices in Keokuk, IA for several years. She then worked at Kirlins in Keokuk for ten years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk. She enjoyed working on puzzles, crocheting and flower gardening. She had served as a volunteer at Keokuk Area Hospital for several years. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Harzke of Sulphur Springs, TX and Susan Sheffler of Ft. Madison, IA, one son, Mark Sheffler of Chatsworth, GA, four grandchildren, Heather Harrison, Lakin Abbey, Trey Abbey and Bryson Abbey, four great-grandchildren, Kevin Kamren Harrison and Destiny and Brianna Harrison and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Mike Sheffler. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Monday at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk with Reverend John Tyler officiating. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Area Hospital Auxiliary.
