Pete Ernest Rupe, 92 of Keokuk, IA died Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA.
Pete was born on July 20, 1923 in Acasto, MO the son of Joseph and Margaret Simpson Rupe.
In his younger years Pete worked as a farm-hand, he enjoyed working on the farm and was a very hard worker.
He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk.
Pete enjoyed going fishing, always looking to catch that big whopper. He also enjoyed going bowling, doing jig saw puzzles, painting and coloring pictures. He loved his birds, watching them eat and listening to them sing.
He survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by three brothers, Omar, Willie and Raymond Rupe, two sisters, a half-brother and a sister-in-law, Eva Rupe, who helped care for him.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2015 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Christy Cemetery, Farmington, IA
