Penny Gayle Nelson, 69, of Keokuk died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. She was born on July 31, 1943 in Nauvoo, IL the daughter of Floyd and Nina Kackley Rahn. She graduated from the Nauvoo Colusa High School. In her younger years she was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Hamilton, IL. Penny was employed at Midwest Carbide in Keokuk for 15 years. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her grandkids, making quilts, gardening and mowing the grass on the riding lawnmower. Penny is survived by one daughter, Teresa Kensett of Keokuk, two sons, George Nelson and his wife Penny of Keokuk and Dustin Nelson and Christina of Keokuk, seven grandchildren, Joshua Nelson, Trisha Nelson, Amanda Shoup, Michael Davison, William Davison, Kourtney Nelson and Andrew Nelson, 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Patty Hultquist of Hamilton, IL, and two brothers, Floyd Rahn and Lloyd Rahn both of Hamilton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother in infancy. A gathering of remembrance for the family and friends was held from 6 -8 p.m. Thursday, March 28th, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA .
