Peggy Ray Steele

Peggy Ray Steele, 56 of Keokuk, IA died September 13, 2022 at her home.

She was born May 14, 1966 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Richard and Carolyn "Punky" McMahan Steele.

Peggy enjoyed watching movies, diamond painting and playing games on her phone. She also enjoyed working word search and crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially loved babysitting and helping kids with their homework.

She is survived by one daughter, Carrie Ray Wilson (John Varner) of Keokuk, one grandson, Daniel Varner of Keokuk, one sister, Kimberly Steele of Keokuk, four brothers, Rodney Steele, Douglas Steele, Eric Steele and Jeffery Steele all of Keokuk. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Xavier, Kameron and Avery, who she raised and her ex-husband, Raymond Wilson, Jr. of Keokuk.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Breanna Wilson and Christina Wilson.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on September 21, 2022, at Buena Vista Mound Cemetery in Keokuk with Pastor Derek Olsen officiating.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on September 20, 2022, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with family meeting with friends at that time.
