Peggy Jane Hammel, 82, of Hamilton, IL died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born on January 29, 1931 in Keokuk the daughter of James and Martha Baker Money. Peggy was united in marriage to Robert C. Hammel in Keokuk and they were married over 60 years. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Debra Richards and her husband Bruce of Jacksonville, IL, Cynthia Adkins and her husband Dick, of Greenville, IL, and Nancy Wolber and her husband Gary of Rock Island, IL, one son, Jeff Hammel of Hamilton, IL, thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Money and one granddaughter, Lacey Hammel. She was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church and was active in the Christian Women's Club. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, music, watching the birds and reading. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will be held. Memorials are suggested to the Hamilton Public Library.
