Pauline Denning

Pauline Denning, 88, of Kahoka, MO, formerly of Alexandria, MO died Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka. She was born on February 15, 1930 on the family farm in Clark County, MO, the daughter of Johnnie and Mary Roberts Koeber. Pauline graduated from the Kahoka High School. On May 7, 1948 Pauline was united in marriage to George W. Denning. They moved to Alexandria, MO in 1952 where they made their lifelong home. George preceded her in death on September 28, 2012. She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk. She loved being outside watching the spider webs float through the air, star gazing, and bird-watching, especially the hummingbirds. She enjoyed going to church and visiting with her church family. She also enjoyed listening to religious music and watching As the World Turns, The Young and Restless, Days of our Lives, The Price is Right and westerns on television. She especially enjoyed the Easter and Christmas holidays. Pauline was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Crowell of Kahoka, Kathy (Bud) Yoe of Shellsburg, IA, and Joy (Frank) Wright of Kahoka, three sons, Kelly (Cheryl) Denning of Keokuk, Wesley (Jeanne) Denning of Kahoka and John (Sandy) Denning of Alexandria, MO. 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Doris Riggs of Hannibal, MO, Connie Dailey of Burlington and Karen Hampsmire of Keokuk. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by twin grandsons James and Franklin Wright, three great-grandchildren, Stephen and Seirra Crowell and Keaton, one sister, Mildred Lipper and one brother-in-law Stephen Crowell. Funeral services was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with Pastor Derek Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery. Visitation was held after 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Clark County Nursing Home.
