Patty Joan Reiss, 68 of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her home. She was born June 6, 1953 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Charles "Lester" and Edith Davis Coovert. On November 24, 2007 she was united in marriage to Randy Reiss in Silver City, New Mexico. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Mike Gipe of Keokuk, one daughter, Tina Summers (Chris) of Keokuk, one step daughter, Jessie Reiss of Denver, CO, one step son, Jeremy Reiss of Denver, CO, two grandchildren, Tyrel Gipe and Jenna Summers and one step grandson, Oden Reiss. She is also survived by two brothers, Keith Coovert of Keokuk and Bob Coovert of Warsaw, MO, one sister, Carol Duncan of Keokuk, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Dylan Summers. Patty was a full time wife and mother whose greatest joy was to care for her family. She loved all animals, especially her horses, chickens and her Yorkies. A memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. on October 5, 2021, at the Keokuk Nazarene Church with Pastor Dana Jurgens and Bill Coovert officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.
