Patty Grubor

Patty Grubor, 62 of Keokuk, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam, WI. She was born January 13, 1954 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Petar and Marija Shedbija Grubor. Patty graduated from the Roosevelt High School with the Class of 1971 and later attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk. She had been employed by Methode Electronics in Carthage, IL for fifteen years until the company closed. Patty attended God's Way Christian Church in Keokuk and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army in Keokuk. Patty loved to cook. She had learned from her mother how to cook international cuisines. She especially loved to cook with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Patty spent time with them watching movies, popping popcorn and making special memories. She liked to read and enjoyed classic mysteries and anything written by Agatha Christie and Edgar Allan Poe. She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Brown (Michael) and Sophia Garcia both of Beaver Dam, WI, seven grandchildren, Ashley Brown, CJ Brown (Kelly), Jared Brown, Michael Brown, Cheyenne Duncan, Kenyon Martin and Ava Martin all of Beaver Dam, WI, one great-granddaughter, Gracie Clark, one brother, Joe Grubor of Keokuk and one sister, Mary Korica of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by one son, Jose Garcia III and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Sylvia Tillman officiating. Memorials may be made to the family for the grandchildren.
