Patricia J. Wetzel, 89, of Quincy, IL, formerly of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at her home. She was born on August 9, 1931 in Hamilton, IL, the daughter of Donald R. and Alta Vinson Morrill. She graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1949 and attended Spoon River College in Canton, IL. On December 26, 1950, Patricia was united in marriage to Walton E. Wetzel. He survives. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Wanda Harnetiaux of Carthage, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Ed and Lottie Vinson and one sister, Doris Tieman. Patricia had been employed at Spoon River College in Canton, IL until her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Keokuk. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Macomb, the American Cancer Society "Road to Recovery" and "Reach to Recovery" in South Lee County, and a former member of the BPW in Macomb and Havana. Her hobbies included dancing, flower gardening, home decorating and reading. Patricia especially enjoyed her volunteer work for the American Cancer Society. There will be no services at this time. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
