Patricia "Patti" Gambrel Hendricks, 76, of Hamilton, IL, died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She was born July 5, 1941 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Lester Sr. and Mary Lucille Meyers Gambrel.
Patti attended Keokuk High School with the Class of 1959.
She had been employed at Walmart Optical Lab in Fayetteville, AR.
Patti enjoyed crafts, particularly ceramic figurines and crocheting. She liked to collect teapots, read and was quite a storyteller. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. She lovingly known by her great-grandchildren as "Gramma Grape".
She is survived by three daughters, Valanda Cummins (Bill) of Lowell, AR, Tamara Nelson (Terry) of Keokuk and Tara Page (Mark) of Montrose, IA, two sons, Jeffry Ewart (Lora) of Keokuk and Michael Ewart of Anamosa, IA, nine grandchildren, David Cummins, Christopher Nelson (Sydra), Ian Arne, Gabrial Arne, Daniel Nelson (Pamela), Tyler Ewart, Heather Ewart, Whitney Edwardson (Tuck) and Bethany Washburn, eighteen great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Nicholas, Riley, Millie, Elliot (due in September), Cayden, Carlos, Drayton, Opal, Shane, Jordan, Martin, Elektra, Aiden, Xaiver, Chloe, Zayden and Zoey, and two brothers, Lester "Butch" Gambrel of Keokuk and Danny Carl Gambrel of Sallisaw, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Gambrel.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Monday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with family meeting with friends at that time. A graveside service will be held following the visitation at the Buena Vista Mound Cemetery in rural Keokuk with Pastor Jed Linebaugh officiating.
