Patricia Mullenix, 62, of Kahoka, MO died Monday, February 6, 2012 at her home in Kahoka, MO. Patricia was born on July 2, 1949 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Lee O. "Red" and Rachel Bales McWhortor. Patricia graduated from Clark County High School with the Class of 1967. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk, IA. She owned The Ladies Parlor. Patricia had been a past president for the Department of Missouri Daughter Union Veterans and past National President of Daughters of Union Veterans. She had a passion for history. She loved being involved with civil war reenactments and the Daughters of the Union Veterans. Her sewing of clothing of that era was well known as well as her historical knowledge. She loved seeing her gowns go across the battlefield as well as the dance floor. She is survived by one daughter, Stacie Claus & her husband Bill of Keokuk, IA, one son, Rusty Mullenix of Lake St. Louis, MO, four grandchildren, Nicole Dupy, Emery Mullenix, Cody Claus and Caylee Claus, one uncle, Kenneth McWhortor and his wife Betty of Ft. Madison, IA and cousins, Kent Mc Whortor, Kirk McWhortor, Andrew McWhortor, Kay Hoenig, Eddie McWhortor, Jeanette McWhortor, Beverly Bales Sauer, Carol Bales and Father John Bales. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Larry McWhortor and William McWhortor. A celebration of life was held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Kahoka Christian Church in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to her grandchildren's education fund.
