Obituary

Patricia J. Meredith, 80 of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born on March 19, 1932 in Keokuk the daughter of Robert and Pearl Hagmeier Dunagan. She graduated from Keokuk High School. On January 26, 1972, Pat was united in marriage to Warren Meredith in Keokuk. He survives. Other survivors include four sons, Craig Johnson of Lockridge, IA, Doug Johnson & Belinda of Fairfield, IA, Vince Johnson of Salem, IA, and Rick Meredith and Denise of Keokuk, one daughter, Barbie (Meredith) Johnson and Jeff of Keokuk, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marilyn Cruz and Marjorie Cruz. Patricia was of the Presbyterian faith. In her younger years she had been employed at Swift and Company in Keokuk. Pat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life's mission was to raise her family and provide a wonderful home for them. She was gifted in arts and crafts and especially enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She designed and created unique sweatshirts for her grandchildren which they will treasure forever. Pat and Warren enjoyed many years of traveling and camping, visiting people and places and making wonderful memories. Their favorite destination was Branson, MO. She was a wonderful cook and did a lot of baking and cooking. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Reverend David Turner and Pastor Jamey Stout officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
