Owen E. Christensen, 89, of Montrose, IA, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at his home. He was born November 14, 1916 in Montrose, IA, the son of Egner and Carrie Sprott Christensen. On March 1, 1941 he was united in marriage to Mary Katherine "Kay" Houghton. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara K. MacLeish of Minneapolis, MN and Karen S. Christensen of Greenboro, NC, one son, Thomas O. Christensen and his wife Donna of Murray, KY, three grandchildren, Adam Long, Leah Christensen and Eric Christensen. A Memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22 at the Montrose Presbyterian Church in Montrose, IA with Dr. James Eades officiating.Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Montrose Riverfront or Montrose Presbyterian Church.
