Orval Lee Hayes, 62, of Montrose, Iowa, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born August 23, 1945 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Carl Marion Hayes and Edna Allen Hayes. On May 29, 1965, Orval was united in marriage to Mary Stockwell at the Montrose Church of the Nazarene in Montrose, Iowa. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter Dawn Brees and her husband Ron of Phoenix, AZ, two granddaughters Samantha Brees and Rebecca Brees also of Phoenix, AZ, five brothers Edward Hayes of Ft. Madison, IA, and William Hayes and his wife Joy of Keokuk, IA, John Hayes and his wife Linda of Montrose, IA, Carl Hayes and his wife Sharon of Donnellson, IA, and Thomas Hayes and his wife Barbara of Donnellson, IA, four sisters Betty Smith of Donnellson, IA, Leatha Crom and her husband Bill of Ft. Madison, IA, Loretta Hayes of Donnellson, IA, and Donna Myers and her husband Glen of Keokuk, IA. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Orval graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1963. He was employed at Honeywell as an aerospace engineer for 34 years retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Montrose Church of the Nazarene. Orval enjoyed the outdoors and being of service to others. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12 at the Montrose Church of the Nazarene in Montrose, IA with Reverend John Hayes and Reverend Preston G. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, IA. Memorials may be made to the Montrose Church of the Nazarene.
