Norma Jean Leggett (Wieneke), 77, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, formerly of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, IA. She was born on June 9, 1929 in Salem, IA, the daughter of John and Nora Lee Brown Glassford. She married Wayne Leggett on December 10, 1950 in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1982. She married Jack Wieneke on June 14, 1985 in Mt. Pleasant, IA. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1988. Norma was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA. Over the years she had been employed at the Ordnance Plant in Danville, IA, the Chuckwagon Restaurant in Keokuk, IA and the Maple Leaf Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant, IA. One of Norma's favorite pastimes was working on craft projects. Norma was a loving mother and grandmother and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Gibson and her friend Tom Thompson of Hamilton, IL, Patty Frye and her husband Jim of Hickory, NC, four sons, Dennis Leggett and his wife Lisa of Hamilton, IL, Doug Leggett and his wife Sharon of Lexington, GA, Mike Leggett and his wife Bobbi of Dallas City, IL, and Brent Leggett of Des Moines, IA, nineteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, her special companion, Charles Brewington of Mt. Pleasant, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one great-granddaughter, seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor John Simpson officiating. A private family burial was held at the Sunset Memorial Park.
