Obituary

Norma L. Roberts, 82, of Revere, Missouri died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, Missouri. She was born January 4, 1928, in Kahoka, Missouri the daughter of Harvey Josiah and Lenna Belle Courtney King. She was united in marriage to Lewis "Eddie Roberts on July 23, 1947 in Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2009. She graduated from Clark County High School with the Class of 1946. She was a rural school teacher and taught 1st – 8th grade. He and her husband also owned and operated the Revere Feed and Farm Supply Store in Revere for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Norma lived an incredible life, filled with all of the wonderful things she enjoyed like playing the piano and sewing. She brought many smiles to the faces of those she knew and loved through her gift of cooking. Her family will cherish the poetry and letters she wrote over the years as they are beautiful remembrances of the artistic way she used to express herself. One of her greatest joys was spending quality time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Boltz and her husband Roy of Revere, her son John Roberts of Kahoka, three grandchildren, David Boltz and his fiancée, Jacqueline Plenge, Robert Boltz and his friend Amber Christy, and Michelle Roberts and her fiancé Eric Grimes, her sister, Verna Vornkahal and her husband Marvin of Texas, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Vera Martin, her brother, Lewis King and other relatives. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 24 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee and Pastor Ray Gilbert officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. A VFW Ladies Auxiliary memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Peaksville Christian Church, Freedom in Christ Fellowship or their youth groups.
