Norma Jean "Shorty" Bross, 68, of Kahoka, MO died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA. She was born on August 2, 1944 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Louise Roberts Shearer. She first married Don Wilsey in 1962. Norma later married Larry L. Bross on April 8, 1982 in Kahoka, MO. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Stephen Wayne Wilsey of Ft. Madison, IA and Samuel Dean Wilsey of Arizona, three daughters, Charlotte Lynn Wilsey Catlin of Michigan, Laura Ann Smith and Lana Marie Kirchner both of Kahoka, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five sisters, Mary Margaret Six and her husband Jack and Shirley Ann Waterman and her husband Ronnie all of Kahoka, Sharon Sue Kaiser and her husband Rick of Pierre, South Dakota, Barbara June Shearer and Vickie Lynn Knowels both of Arizona and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son in infancy, Allen Lee Wilsey, one brother, two brothers-in-law and aunts and uncles. Norma graduated from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk. She had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for nineteen years, retiring in 1992. Norma enjoyed crocheting and knitting and made beautiful gifts for her family and friends that will be treasured forever. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time on the computer. Norma was a caring, loving woman who was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. There was nothing more treasured in her life than her family. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Ray Gilbert officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Larry L. Bross.
