Nelda "Nadine" Simmons

Nelda "Nadine" Simmons, 73, of Keokuk passed Friday, February 24, 2017 at her home in Keokuk. She was born August 26, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL the daughter of Charlie and Cleo Cody Page. On June 25, 1977 she was united in marriage to Robert Edward Simmons at the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2005. She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk. Nadine enjoyed going garage selling and making floral arrangements. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons: Terry (Vicki) Mayer of Pinebluff, NC and Rick Mayer of Murrieta, CA, her daughter, Sherry Starr of Keokuk, close friend, Brad Starr, step daughter, Theresa Taylor of Cambridge, PA, grandchildren: Michael (Rosanna) Mayer, D.J. Mayer, Trista Mayer, April (Matt) Downey, Cody (Katie) Mayer, Wesley Mayer, Emily Mayer and Tori Mayer, Jeff (Jessica) Richards and Amanda (Tony) Kellogg, and great grandchildren, one brother, Paul Page of Montrose, three nieces, Melody (Joe) Riter, Shirley Higbee and Sonia Rowlett all of Keokuk, along with many cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating.
