Nancy A. Brown, 62, of rural Montrose, IA died Thursday, February 24, 2005 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1942 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Billy R. and Margery A. Burns Evans. She married Charles H. Brown on April 29, 1962 in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2004. Nancy graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the class of 1960. She was a Boy Scout leader and District Rep. for several years. She enjoyed being a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk, IA, loved to play scrabble, read and do crossword puzzles. She was an avid NASCAR fan. Nancy was employed at Sheller Globe for four years and then at McDonalds in Keokuk, IA for the last 27 years until her health wouldn't permit her to work. She is survived by two sons, Jim C. Brown and his wife Jennifer of Keokuk, Gary H. Brown and his wife Tracilyn of Maryland, three grandchildren, Eleni Roberts, Naythen Brown and Hannah Brown, three step-grandchildren, Chantele Stein, Elizabeth Stein and Anneliese Stein, one brother, Robert Evans of Las Vegas, NV, her step-mother, Mary Evans of Keokuk, an aunt, Bernice Jackson of Florida, uncles, Max Evans and Jack Evans both of Keokuk, IA, cousins and special friends, Tom and Esther Ferguson of Keokuk, IA. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 2, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. A memorial was established for the Lee County Hospice.
