Obituary

Nancy Joana Breakbill, 83, of Keokuk died Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison, IA.

Joana was born on November 20, 1941 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Robert M. and Anna Andersen Guild. Her very first car ride just happened to be Pearl Harbor Day.

On June 18, 1960 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Breakbill in the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2006.

She was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk.

Joana was employed as an insurance agent for several years retiring in 1989.

She was an avid flower gardener. Enjoyed quilting, crocheting afghans, growing African violets and feeding all the feral cats, birds and squirrels in the neighborhood.

Joana also loved to watch all the old game shows, Everyone Loves Raymond, and King of Queens on television. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the world go by. Most of all she loved being with her family and all the grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Breakbill of Rome, GA, Timothy Breakbill (Julie) of Keokuk, IA and Kirk Breakbill (Traci) of Keokuk, IA. Four grandchildren, Savannah Breakbill, Blake Breakbill, Summer Miller and Brandon Gray, several great grandchildren, one sister, Barbara Devine-Spolek(Steve) of Coalinga, CA and two nieces, Jennifer and Erin Devine, several great nieces and great nephews and of course her cat, Nessa.

Joana was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law Debbie Breakbill, brother-in-law Frank
