Morgan Rae Westermeyer, 18, of Montrose, IA died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. as the result of a car accident. She was born April 29, 1996 in Burlington, IA the daughter of David and Stefanie Stinson Westermeyer. Morgan graduated from Central Lee High School in Donnellson, IA with the Class of 2014. She had been a member of the FFA and NHS throughout her school years. She was currently attending Southeastern Community College in Keokuk and was enrolled in the Nursing Program. Morgan had been employed at Dave's Old Fashioned Meats in Montrose, IA. Morgan adored animals, especially dogs and cats. She loved spending time outdoors fishing, bow hunting and riding horses. She enjoyed shopping and hanging out with her family, boyfriend and friends. Morgan brought smiles to faces of those she knew and loved her. She leaves a lifetime of treasured memories behind for her family and friends. She is survived by her father, David Westermeyer of Montrose, IA, mother, Stefanie Westermeyer of Franklin, IA, one brother, Dalton Westermeyer of Montrose, IA, one honorary brother, Matt Maher of Keokuk, IA, one sister, Jessica Ferris of West Des Moines, IA, grandmother, Ruby Westermeyer of Keokuk, IA, and grandparents, Gary and Vicki Stinson of Ft. Madison, IA, great-grandmother, Bernice Stinson of Ft. Madison, IA, boyfriend, Richard Courtney of Montrose, IA and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Calvin Westermeyer, great-grandmother, Mildred Spurgeon, great-grandfathers, Floyd Stinson and Walter Martin, one aunt, Teresa Westermeyer and one uncle Ward Westermeyer. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Oakland-Sand Cemetery, Vincennes, IA . Memorials may be made to Montrose Fire and Rescue and to the family for expenses.
