Min Ku Gates, 49 of Keokuk died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at her home. She was born November 3, 1964 in the Republic of Korea. She was united in marriage to Richard Gates in 1989 in Korea. He survives. Other survivors include one step-daughter, Sara Vaughn of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, one step-son, Richard Gates, Jr. of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Min Ku attended Bel Air Baptist Church in Keokuk. She enjoyed indoor gardening and her home was filled with beautiful plants. Min Ku had a beautiful smile and joyous personality. She had a gift of never meeting a stranger and enjoyed meeting people while taking walks. She loved all kinds of animals, but none had a greater place in her heart than her faithful dogs. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Mike McMillen officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery at a later date.
