Mildred Virginia Mohr, 98, of Kahoka died Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk. She was born June 26, 1912 the daughter of Charles Edward and Virginia Dare Spicknall in Clark County, Missouri near Fairmont. On September 27, 1940 she was united in marriage to Richard Mohr in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1985. Mildred grew up attending the Fairmont Methodist Church and later became a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. She attended Fairmont Grade School and Wyaconda High School and then graduated from Kahoka High School. Richard and Mildred co-owned Mohr & Wendling Machine Shop in Kahoka with Henry and Lois Wendling for several years. Later they owned and operated The Travelier Café and DX Station in Wayland, MO. She enjoyed sewing and was very particular in whatever she did. She was a loving mother, and grandmother. Her great grandchildren were Grandma Great's pride and joy. Survivors include her daughter Stachia Wiegand of Kahoka, MO, two granddaughters, Gena Brewer and her husband Jon of Greenwood, MO and Sharmin Rowland and her husband Terry of Raytown, MO, five great grandchildren, Chloe Brewer, Dane Brewer, Nikolas Rowland, Hayden Rowland, and Bret Rowland, one step-great grandson, Jonathan Brewer, one brother, Elvin Spicknall and his wife Doris of Burlington, IA, and one sister Vada Zane Logan of Kahoka, MO, along with many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ralph Edward Spicknall and a sister Hazel Marie Feldman. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with Rev. Ken Beckmann officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Kahoka. Memorials may be made to the Clark County Nutrition Center or the charity of the donor's choice.
