Michael S. Starr, 48 of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at home. He was born on February 25, 1960 in Keokuk, IA the son of Jack and Maxine Carle Starr. He married Lisa Mulch on April 14, 1979. They later divorced. He had been employed at Foote Mineral Co. in Keokuk, IA for eleven years, then worked at the Cheese Factory in Nauvoo, IL for seven years. Most recently he had been employed at Metzeler Automotive in Keokuk for eleven years. Michael was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union and served as a union steward. He loved to work with tools and was proud of his extensive tool collection. He also enjoyed woodworking and welding. Michael was a very good cook and loved to bar-b-que. Michael is survived by his parents, Jack and Maxine Starr of Keokuk, one son, Nathan Starr of Chicago, IL, three daughters, Heather Starr and Breann Starr both of Sutter, IL, and Amy Starr of Keokuk, two brothers, Jack William Starr and Brad Starr and his wife Sherry all of Keokuk, one sister, Dianna Pratt and her husband Duane of Berwick, IL, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Carol Sue Starr and his grandparents. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 22 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church Building Fund.
