Michael Brian Shatzer

Michael Brian Shatzer, 53, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at West Point Care Center in West Point, Iowa.

He was born on March 19, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Karol Shatzer.

Mike graduated from Midland Park High School in Eldora, Iowa, with the Class of 1991.

On July 31, 2000, he was united in marriage to Lisa Pierson in Iowa City, Iowa. Together they shared 26 years of marriage.

Mike was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a Chicago Bears fan and rarely missed a game. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games, watching television, and simply relaxing at home.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lisa Shatzer of Keokuk.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Karol Shatzer.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
