Maxine L. Wright, 82, of Keokuk, IA, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on December 26, 1924 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Paul William and Sarah Florence May Vanarsdall Searsen. On May 8, 1948, Maxine was united in marriage to Fred L. Wright in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1985. She graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1942. Prior to her marriage she had been employed by Dryden's for five years. Maxine was a member of the New Testament Christian Church, the Sandusky Ladies Aid and the Belmont Cosmopolitan Club. She enjoyed cooking and doing crossword puzzles. She loved to talk to friends on the telephone. Maxine is survived by one daughter, Sandra Hansen and her husband Frank of Keokuk, IA, one son, Fred Wright, Jr. and his wife Chris of Keokuk, IA, four grandchildren, Jacob Wright, Sarah Wright, Debra Hedger, Brian Dodge and his wife Angela, one great-granddaughter, Kendra Paige Hedger, nieces, nephews & cousins. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janet James and one brother, Van P. Searsen. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
