View Video Tribute Mary Dorlene Riney Stevens, 80 of Centralia, MO formerly of Wayland, MO died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at her daughter's home. She was born July 21, 1931 in Lewis County, MO the daughter of Russell Mathew and Cecelia Logsdon Riney. On April 12, 1952 she was united in marriage to Asa Orval "Brody" Stevens in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1997. Mary graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1949. She was a long time member of St. Martha's Catholic Church in Wayland, MO and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kahoka, MO. Most of Mary's life was spent as a homemaker. Mary cherished her children and grandchildren and was always kind and gentle. Lots of time and love was put into gardening and canning and making her famous homemade noodles. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, playing games and working puzzles on the computer. Mary is survived by six children, Mary Ann Jackson and her husband Byron of St. Joseph, MO, Orval Stanley Stevens and his wife Debbie of Iowa City, IA, James Leroy Stevens of Mesa, AZ, Karen Lyn Stevens of Centralia, MO, Teresa Diane Kerner and her husband Charles of Kahoka, MO and Nancy Marlene Siedle and her husband Rodman of Horseshoe Bend, AR, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, two brothers, William Riney and his wife Emma Jean of Punta Gorda, FL and Edwin Riney and his wife Tammy of St. Francisville, MO and one sister, Patricia Winters and her husband Kenneth of Canton, MO. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Glenda Carol Stevens, one step-daughter, Connie Sue Davis and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 24at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Wayland, MO with Father Paul Hartley officiating. Burialwas in the Frazee Cemetery in Wayland, MO. Memorials may be made to the Boone County Hospital Hospice.
