Mary Helen Ringstrom, 83 of Montrose died Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Montrose Health Care Center in Montrose, IA. She was born April 12, 1931 in Revere, Missouri the daughter of Garland and Nettie Wilkins LeMaster. On September 11, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert L. Gambrel. They later divorced. On June 15, 1962 she married John R. Ringstrom. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2000. Mary was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. One of her greatest joys was spending quality time with her family. She showed her love for them by cooking and baking their favorite dishes and treats. She will be long remembered for her delicious gifts from the heart. She was also a gifted quilter and enjoyed making quilts for every family member. She is survived by her children, Linda (John) Lee of Chicago, Robert (Eva) Gambrel of Azle, TX, Dianna (Bob) Cannon of Keokuk, and Barb Ringstrom of St. Louis, a step son, John J. Ringstrom of Keokuk, eleven grandchildren, six step grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, a sister, Della Mae (Harry) Hibbetts of Inverness, TX along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in infancy, a step son, Daniel D. Ringstrom and three brothers. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Monday, December 15th, 2014 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Deacon William Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery. The family requests no memorials.
