Mary Lou Recor Shelton, 70 of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at River Hills Village in Keokuk. She was born October 7, 1948 in Bristol, PA the daughter of Joseph and Mary Louise Francis Wiley. She was first united in marriage to William Recor, Sr. in Bristol, PA in 1970. They divorced. Mary Lou was later united in marriage Michael Shelton in 1998. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2015. Mary Lou had been employed as a CNA at several different nursing homes through the years including the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA, Scotland County Nursing Home in Memphis, MO and the Hashburg Adult Living Center in Chillicothe, MO. She was a member of the Community of Christ in Keokuk. Mary Lou liked watching old television shows, especially Planet of the Apes. She enjoyed all types of art and crafts, word search puzzles and Bingo. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved caring for them. She is survived by three sons, William Recor, Jr. of Missouri, Joseph J. Recor (Tracy) of Keokuk and Brian K. Recor (Cynthia) of Oskaloosa, IA, five grandchildren, Chelsy Vickers, Byron Recor, Christina Koethe, Joseph Recor and Denim Recor, one great-granddaughter, Alana Vickers, one niece, Susan McKelvey of Pennsylvania, great niece-nephews, Joseph, Amanda and Myles McKelvey of Pennsylvania, one step-son, John Gerber of Missouri and, her dog, Lilly, who was her faithful companion. Besides her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joseph and Charles Wiley. There will be no local services. Burial will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
