Mary Charlotte Kauzlarich, 94, of Keokuk, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born September 4, 1915 in Granger, Missouri the daughter of Archie Wayne and Grace Selby Cline. On November 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Daniel S. Kauzlarich in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1983. Mary graduated from Granger High School in Granger, MO as valedictorian of her class. She had been employed at the Shaffer Pen Company in Ft. Madison, IA for ten years before her marriage. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hamilton, IL and Chillicothe, IL. Mary enjoyed playing pinochle, reading and traveling. She enjoyed volunteering at her church and while her daughter was in school, she volunteered at her school. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kauzlarich and her partner Donald Lowell of Chicago, IL, a nephew and several nieces. Mary was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Glover and a brother, Wayne Cline. Funeral services were held 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Goldie Laymon officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
