Mary C. "Cathe" Grove, 65 of Warsaw, IL passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at OSF HealthCare in Peoria, IL.

She was born April 4, 1960 in Quincy, IL the daughter of John E. and Virginia A. Herring Sass. She graduated from Quincy Senior High School and Gem City Cosmetology both in Quincy, IL.

Over the years, Cathe worked in childcare at several places, including Grove Zoo Daycare and IMRF School District 172. She also cooked for Chaddock's Boy's School and Senior Center 5.

She was a member of both St. Boniface and St. Francis Catholic Churches.

Cathe loved a good book, getting her hands dirty in the garden, bowling with friends, and making ceramics and jewelry. She had a creative spark and a gentle heart, and she'll be remembered for the joy she brought to everyday moments.

She is survived by three sons, Tayler Grove of Warsaw, IL, Cameron Grove of Quincy, IL and Richard Grove of Galveston, TX, five grandchildren, Abiigail Rose Grove of Warsaw, IL, Whyatt Grove, Isabel McGahan Grove, Lillyann Grove and Carson Grove all of Quincy, IL. She is also survived by five siblings, Denise E. Sass of Tulsa, OK, Jon E. Sass of Quincy, IL, Kevin E. Sass (Sherri) of Punta Gorda, FL, Angie D. Sass (Christine) of Tulsa OK and Becky Milan of Payson, IL and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Paisley Elaine.
