Mary Badgley, 87, of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, September 4, 2009 at her home. She was born on March 25, 1922 in Keokuk, the daughter of E.C. and Margaret Burke McPherson. On December 14, 1946, Mary was united in marriage to Gordon Badgley. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1969. She was a graduate of the former St. Peter High School. During WW II she worked for the Navy Department in Quincy, IL. Later she worked in various secretarial positions in Keokuk. Mary was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA. She is survived by six nephews, Robert Schmidt of Chicago, IL, Richard Schmidt of Los Gatos, CA, James Teeters of Revere, MO, Tom Teeters of Keokuk, IA Michael McPherson of Carthage, MO and Pat McPherson of Savannah, Georgia, one niece, Ann Vogt of Oneonta, AL and a special friend Marian Ealey of Keokuk, IA. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Schmidt and Ann Teeters, three brothers, James, William and Jack McPherson and one niece, Mary Lou McPherson. Mass of Christian burial was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA with Father Mark Spring officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arms of Angels.
