Mark Wellman, 76, of Kahoka, MO died Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born July 25, 1944 in West Point, IA the son of Aloysius and Anna Sporer Wellman. On November 21, 1970, Mark was united in marriage to Carol Marie Cook. She died suddenly in 1989. Mark was proud of his service in the Iowa Army National Guard as a tank navigator. Mark worked as a mason in the West Liberty Iowa area until he retired to the Kahoka area with his companion and dear friend, Mary Wink. She preceded him in death in 2011. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and conservation. Mark was a history buff and liked to study the history of the northeast Missouri. Mark was an avid NASCAR fan. Mark is survived by his daughter, Leasa Lantzky (Bruce) of Waverly, IA, two grandchildren, Trey Lantzky and Natalie Lantzky, four sisters, Dorothy Jones of Montrose, IA, Wanda Croswhite of Mexico, MO, Shirley Asby of Alburnett, Iowa and Marilyn Wellman-Zimmerman of St. Joseph, MO . He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas Wellman and David Wellman. The Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka is assisting the family with arrangements.
