Marjory M. Merideth, 87, of Keokuk, IA died Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born August 30, 1922 in Hamilton, IL the daughter of Charles S. and Julia Rockwell Harrison. On February 1, 1944 she was united in marriage to Ellsworth Merideth in Hamilton, IL. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1999. Marjory was of the Lutheran faith. She was a homemaker and her greatest joy was her family. She was a seamstress and designed and sewed wedding dresses. Marjory was also an excellent cook and provided many recipes for the Halftime Deli. She had volunteered for the Graham Hospital Auxiliary for several years. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Payne and her husband Larry of Keokuk, IA, one granddaughter, Johanna M. Merideth of Orlando, FL, one grandson, Samuel L. Payne and his wife Kristine of Keokuk, IA, three great- grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Marjory was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, James E. Merideth, one grandson, Larry M. Payne, one brother, William Harrison, two sisters, Irene Jones and Dorothy Willoughby one great-grandson and one niece. Memorial services were held at 11a.m., Wednesday, October 21 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Bob Payne officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Area Hospital Auxiliary.
