Marjorie Lois Talbot, 85 of Keokuk died Monday, December 16, 2013 at her home. She was born February 5, 1928 in Ft. Madison, IA the daughter of Edgar and Ellen Carlson Graham. In June of 1958, she was united in marriage to Tom Talbot at St. John's Episcopal Church in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1989. Marjorie graduated from Ft. Madison High School with the Class of 1946. She was employed as a secretary for the Keokuk Community School district from 1970 – 1993. She was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church. Her faith was an active and vital part of her life. She actively participated in Bible studies and prayer groups in the church. Marjorie will always be remembered for her homemade tea rings. She was a devoted wife and mother who greatly enjoyed caring for her family. She is survived by her son, Tim Talbot of Keokuk and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother David Graham. Memorial services were held 1 p.m. Friday, December 20th, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church with Reverend Rodney Underwood officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
