Marjorie Maxine Johnson, 90, of Keokuk, IA, died Monday, October 31, 2011 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. She was born on August 26, 1921 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Zella Tucker Hayden. On February 22, 1941, Marjorie was united in marriage to James Johnson. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1998. Marjorie graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1939. She had been employed at the Keokuk Junior High School cafeteria for ten years. She was a faithful member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, MO and her church family was very special to her. Marjorie loved working her puzzle books. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. She is survived by one son, Marc Johnson and his wife Carolyn of Keokuk, IA, one sister, Helen Patton of Keokuk, IA, three granddaughters, Renee Schofield and her husband Ed of Ketchikan, Alaska, Denise Protsman of Keokuk, IA and Jena Church and her husband Jason of Kahoka, MO, four grandsons, Jim Morgan and his wife Jenny of Keokuk, IA, Ian Johnson of Keokuk, IA, Justin Johnson of Hamilton, IL and Eric Morgan of Kahoka, MO, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one son at birth, James Johnson, Jr, her daughter, MarScine Morgan, her son-in-law, James Morgan, Jr. and one sister JoAnn Humphrey. A Memorial Service were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Alexandria Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, MO with Dr. David Castrodale officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, IA Memorials may be made to the Alexandria Presbyterian Church.
