Marilyn Joy Thomas, 77 of Keokuk, IA died Friday, November 30, 2012 at her home. She was born May 31, 1935 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Howard and Pearl Gilpin Mann. On May 4, 1956 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Leroy Thomas. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2011. She had attended Bel Air Baptist Church. Marilyn enjoyed playing cards, her favorites games were Canasta and Rummy. She loved to play Bingo and was always looking for a place to play. Marilyn was devoted to her family and loved babysitting her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Bill Mann and his wife Penny of Akeny, IA, Kenny Thomas and his wife Angie and David Thomas all of Keokuk, IA, two daughters, Brenda Bawden of Hamilton, IL and Sherry Thomas and her husband Jim of Keokuk, IA, eleven grandchildren, Kim Pfaff and her husband Sean of Kearney, MO, Bill Mann and his wife Amber, Tori Thomas and her husband Tom, Kevin Thomas and his wife Andrea, Crystal Thomas, Daniel Rogers, Dustin Rogers and Dakota Rogers all of Keokuk, IA, David Rogers and his wife Tina, Kelee Bawden and Kelsie Bawden all of Hamilton, IL, sixteen great-grandchildren and a special family friend, Dawn Rogers of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gary Mann and David "Sonny" Mann and three other siblings in infancy. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m . Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Terry Lovell officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lee County Hospice or the Keokuk International Order of the Oddfellows.
