Marilyn J. Cruz, 83 of Keokuk, IA, formerly of Hamilton, IL died Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Montrose Health Center, Montrose, IA.
She was born on May 10, 1928 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Robert and Pearl Hagmeier Dunagan. Marilyn was united in marriage to Josias Cruz on August 28, 1949 in Kahoka, MO and they spent 62 wonderful years together. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael Cruz and his wife Elizabeth of Orlando, FL and Randy Cruz and his wife Jane of Waukesha, WI, five grandchildren, Deanna James and her husband Jason of Keokuk, Josh Cruz and his wife Alicia of San Antonio, TX, Erin Cruz of Keokuk, Bradley Cruz of Macomb, IL and Megan Cruz of Houston, TX, eight great-grandchildren, Ben, Caleb, Will and Mia James, Alexandra and Josh Michael Cruz, Bella and Kane Cruz, two step-great-grandchildren, Amber and Jared Hinojosa, one sister, Patricia Meredith and her husband Warren of Keokuk and her former daughter-in-law, Fabiane Delaney of Columbia, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margie Cruz.
Marilyn and Josias lived in Hamilton, IL for over fifty years and moved to Keokuk in 2008. She loved to cook and collect recipes and cookbooks. Marilyn especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Memorial serviceswere held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burialwas in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
