Marilyn Marie Boston

Marilyn Marie Boston, 79 of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Unity Point Keokuk. She was born August 17, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, IA the daughter of George Ivan and Jennie Marie Rabe Schminkey. On October 30, 1976 Marilyn was united in marriage to Iven T. Boston in Cedar Rapids, IA. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2010. Marilyn had been employed as a house keeper for many years and at the Cedar Rapids Children's Orphanage. She was a member of the Keokuk Nazarene Church. Marilyn loved to read, especially historical fiction books and Readers' Digest magazine, play cards and spend time outdoors in her flower garden. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She is survived by one niece, Connie Antonini (Joseph) of Cedar Rapids, IA, one nephew, Jerry Griffin of Cedar Rapids, IA and many other nieces, nephews and cousins, locally including, Gail (James) Clark of Keokuk and Penny (Joseph) Logsdon of Keokuk. She was fortunate to have Norma Hartwig and Tami Pavao as her loving caregivers. Marilyn was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Iva Jean Griffin. Visitation was held prior to the service, Tuesday, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A procession left the funeral home for the cemetery at 1:30 p.m. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL.
