Marian Alice Knight, 84, of Donnellson, IA, died Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison, IA. She was born on March 24, 1933 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Kenneth and Pearl (Harmon) Tweedy. She graduated from Montrose High School with the Class of 1950. On November 27, 1952, Marian was united in marriage to Robert Dean Knight at the Methodist Church in Montrose, IA. He survives. She is also survived by three sons, Kenneth Robert Knight of Cedar Rapids, IA, Charles Edward Knight and Kyle David Knight both of Donnellson, two daughters, Carolena Marie James (Ronald) of Fort Madison, and Christine Deon Johnson (Gary) of West Point, IA, two granddaughters, Heather Marie James of Davenport and Crystal Ann Edmunds (Ryan) of Cedar Rapids, one great-granddaughter, Autumn Pearl Thurman of Davenport, one sister, Marjorie Johnson of Montrose, one brother Karl Tweedy (Ardith) of Keokuk and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin children, Keith and Kay Knight and one brother, Marvin Tweedy. Marian had worked at Sheaffer Pen and the Mericana Motel, both in Fort Madison and also for Dr. John Rankin in Keokuk. She was a member of the Garden Club in Montrose. She enjoyed birdwatching, listening to music and was a gardener with a green thumb. Her African Violets were always beautiful. She also enjoyed bowling and had been on bowling leagues over the years. She loved animals and had several dogs over the years that were a special part of her family. A loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, Marian's greatest joy was to care for her family. She leaves a lifetime of treasured memories for her family. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
