Margaret "Margie" M. Neil, 73, of Tioga, IL died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her home.
Margie was born on September 20, 1943 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of George and Carolyn Shaffer Stanley. On July 4, 1987 Margie was united in marriage to James W. Neil in Lima, IL. He survives.
Other survivors include, one stepson, Mark Neil (Christi) of Hannibal, MO, one stepdaughter, Melissa Neil (Wiley Blankenship) of Mebane, NC, one step-grandchild, Breyer Neil of Quincy, IL, one nephew, Jim Daw, Jr. and wife Tia, one niece, Darcy Ames, two great-nieces, Carrie Daw and Kenna Ames, many close friends at the Hamilton Family Restaurant including Sherri, Cathy and Janet all of Hamilton, and her baby, a sweet dog named Ginger, who was her constant companion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Sandra Wagner and a step-daughter-in-law, Michelene Neil.
Margie graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in Keokuk with the Class of 1961.
She attended the Sutter Salem Bible Church in rural Sutter, IL.
Margie enjoyed all types of handcrafts including crocheting, quilting and making Indian doll clothes. She loved to read mysteries, and work on crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed going fishing. Margie's faith was important to her and reading the Bible daily gave her strength and comfort.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Nathan Robbins officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw, IL.
