Lynn Carl Hingst, Sr.

Lynn Carl Hingst, Sr., 70 of Keokuk, IA formerly of Burlington, IA, died Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Unity Point-Keokuk. He was born July 21, 1948 the son of George Philip and Patricia Eileen Bussee Hingst. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betsy" Carkhuff on August 8, 1998 in Ft. Madison, IA. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Patricia Hingst of Burlington, IA, three sons, Lynn Hingst, Jr. (Rebecca) of Centerpoint, IA, Philip Hingst (Shannon) of Swisher, IA and Jason Hingst (Lisa) of Cedar Rapids, IA, one daughter, Shelly (Dan) Talbert of Deep River, IA, two step-sons, Michael Bostock of IA and Joshua Bostock of Burlington, IA, one step-daughter, Heidi Swank (Danny) of Burlington, IA, twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Nola Hingst. Lynn graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, IA with the Class of 1967. He had been employed as an insurance agent for several companies through the years. Lynn enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and cutting wood for his furnace. Lynn could fix anything and was always tinkering with things. He loved to travel and never missed an opportunity to take off on an adventure. Lynn also enjoyed listening to classic rock and country music. There will be no services.
