Obituary

Carole 'Lynn' Frazier, 81, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, of heart failure at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born in Keokuk October 25, 1935, the daughter of John and Vera Langley Rankin. In 1953 she married Ron Greer, and had her one son, Daniel Rankin Greer, in 1955. On June 1, 1968, she was united in marriage to Charles O. Frazier, in Keokuk, and they raised their son, Daniel Rankin Frazier. Preceding her in death were both her parents, Vera and John, her second Mom, Bea Rankin, husband Charles on November 15, 2006, and son Daniel on October 11, 2011. Lynn graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1953. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk. She was also a charter member of Keokuk PD crime prevention. Lynn enjoyed making stain glass, knitting, and collecting antiques in her spare time. She is survived by three brothers; John Rankin of Gold Hill, Colorado, William Rankin of Muscatine, IA, and Jim Rankin of Austin, TX, and one sister; Kay Gerstner of Delafield, WI, along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17 (St. Patrick's Day) at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Reverend Jeff Bixby officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 1 – 2pm, with the family meeting with all her friends present at that time. Lynn wished Memorials in lieu of flowers, to be made in her name to the Lexington Square Nursing Home on Messenger Road to be used for Resident's Community Improvements. The family wishes to thank the professionalism and loving care she received from those at both the Keokuk Area Hospital and at Lexington Square Nursing Home. Friends that really brightened her day include, but are not limited to; Joanie & Bill Logan, Judy Patterson, Bob & Peggy Sutton, Kim & Richard Fehseke, Kelly Grogan, Patti Egley, and Craig Schwartz.
