Lyle N. Chancellor, 64, of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA with his girls by his side. He was born on May 28, 1946 in Kansas City, MO the son of John and Grace Billups Chancellor. He graduated from Canton High School with the Class of 1965. He had been employed at Midwest Carbide as a maintenance mechanic and retired in 2006. Lyle was a member of the Racers Reunion. He was an avid bowler. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and four wheeler riding and going on poker runs with all of his friends. He was a loving father and grandfather enjoyed watching his granddaughters grow up. He also took great pride in the two great granddaughters. He is survived by two daughters, Lori Petty of Keokuk, IA and Wendy Chancellor of Mt. Pleasant, IA, three granddaughters, Elisha Bigelow and her husband Brandon, Miranda Crank and her husband Robert and Courtney Petty, two great granddaughters, Kaydence Crank and Serenity Crank, his bone marrow donor, Todd Weber and his wife Janet of Michigan, three sisters, Mary Norton, of Kansas City, MO, Garnet Tripp of Kahoka, MO, and Kathleen Tripp of South Dakota, one brother, Miles Chancellor of Memphis, MO, half brothers and sisters and their mother, Lucille Cossel, Darlene Swank, Dianna Rempp and her husband Jerry, Darrel Cossel and his wife Vicky, Darla Steenblock and her husband Leon and Dean Cossel plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Max Chancellor, Lee Chancellor, Paul Chancellor, and Joe Chancellor and 3 brothers in law, Merle Norton, Denver Tripp, and Dennis Tripp. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday June 25th at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Burial was in the Rutledge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Donor Network.
